The retinal is encapsulated for a gentler, slow release suited to delicate eye skin, but retinal is still an active. If your skin is sensitive or you are new to retinal, patch test for 24 hours first, then start with evening use 2 to 3 times per week and build up as your skin adjusts.

Because it contains retinal, a vitamin A derivative, some people notice mild dryness, redness, or tingling at first, especially when new to retinal. Introduce it slowly (2 to 3 evenings a week), and you can buffer by applying your moisturiser first, then the serum. Reduce frequency if needed, and stop use if irritation persists.
